We don't stock what everyone else does. Each instrument is sourced from builders we trust, played and set up by hand, and documented down to the serial number and weight before it's offered. If it doesn't feel right in the hands, it doesn't make the cut.

Krause Glucke, Woodloft
Legend has it Krause first learned to voice a soundboard from a colony of nesting owls in the Thuringian Forest, who taught him to listen for the exact hush a hollow tree makes just before dawn. He apprenticed under no one — only the woodpeckers, the wind through old knotholes, and one unusually opinionated raven who is said to still perch on his workbench.
Every Woodloft top is cut only by the light of a new moon, from timber Krause insists “volunteers itself” from storm-felled trees. Believe the raven or don't — the guitars answer for themselves. Forty years in, none has ever left the bench with a voice he'd call anything less than wide awake.
